We teamed up with Ants at Work to produce a series of commercials for MyDirect Insurance, promoting the various benefits of their car insurance programs. According to the copy, MyDirect customers have one less thought, or one less need a day, as they don’t need to worry about their car insurance. The agency’s creative brief & storyboards were clear & concise: we were going for a lighter, more joyful approach; one that doesn’t bear the corporate backbone of similar industries. The campaign launched in January 2012 in Greece and included a number of different versions, edits and applications for broadcast and cinema. One less worry for MyDirect Insurance, then!

Many people might not be familiar with Pokka coffee, but why should they? It’s only the Japanese brand that helped establish the canned coffee as we know it today! They thrive in far away Cyprus as well, where Pokka shares a proud 80% in the canned coffee market. So we were more than happy to help with rebooting the 10-year-long TV campaign that introduced the brand to Cypriots. The 18” spot shows how a single coffee bean spans a magical cloud of related themes, or what we liked to call “The Essence”, before finally getting sucked inside a can of Pokka coffee. It stars Michalis Chatzigiannis, the pop singer whose song “Our Short Stories” became what would be widely known as the anthem of Pokka, at least to fellow Cypriots.

This brief from The Newtons can be summed up in just a couple of sentences: “Here’s a video we did for Wind a while back. Now make it look like it’s Christmas.” The original commercial – created by Velvet’s visual effects superstars in Munich – featured a whole bunch of cheeky “App characters” jumping out of smartphones and busting moves in one of Wind’s shops. Our job was to remix the whole thing for Christmas, and after 2 weeks of planning, 2500 frames of rotoscoping, some of the toughest technical roadblocks in (our) history, and what must have been the most fun we’ve ever had with Santa Claus and a green screen, that’s exactly what we did.

Watch Velvet’s original commercial here.

We’ve also put together a very quick making of, here.

Tribal DDB Athens’ digital masterminds came up with a social experiment to promote Toyota’s Aygo model in Greece. Through an integrated sound recorder on Toyota Hellas’ Facebook page, people recorded words that would later be used by Greek composer Nikko Patrelakis to create a song (a staggering 4 hours of recorded material). After the song was composed, we joined the team and created a video-clip to go with it, that naturally included the words and avatars of the people that submitted them. Inspired by the randomness that inevitably happens when – literally – a thousand people get together to write a song, we decided to go for a similar approach and go crazy with slicing the image apart, mixing typography elements together, and generally creating a video-clip that shares the same bits & pieces nature of the song itself.

Commissioned by Stefi Productions for BoldOgilvy, we were asked to create a set of breakers and graphics for Cosmote’s Dancing on Ice sponsorship. The agency came up with a concept that derived from the client’s long running “We See The World Like You Do” campaign, and we brought it from paper to life in something less than a week. Unfortunately, we had to edit out the parts where we skate around in tights, but we did keep the part where the camera travels from a wide shot of the earth to the inside of a snowball, between miniature figure-skating couples, and out again.

We’d never have guessed that a tiny comment on Behance would trigger the start of a new assignment, which makes SEEAR Playground’s Teaser all the more special to us. Created & curated by designer Stavros Kypraios, SEEAR derives from the words see and hear, and it’s a project in which “young designers and musicians collaborate to produce audiovisual art to communicate through both major human senses”. SEEAR’s 2nd year theme was “Playground”, and the task for all was to create artwork based on the most popular answers to the survey: “What was your favorite childhood game?” Heavily inspired by Gary Taxali’s illustration style, we decided to go back to the roots too, and create a video that’s as much an introduction to SEEAR as it is a small tribute to the nostalgic, halftone world of old.

mydescription—

We’re big fans of camping here at Monologue, so developing an iPhone guide for all other campers out there only felt natural (no pun intended). The application provides users with extensive lists of Greek campsites, including their photos, facilities, GPS locations and reviews. It also features pre-made checklists with everything you might need at camping, practically sorted in three categories depending on the number of days the user will be camping. There’s also a handy information screen with useful phone numbers and websites in the case they’re needed.

It was made clear from the beginning that I Love Camping’s interface shouldn’t look too high-tech. Instead, what we did was create a subtle mix of natural elements drawn in a comic, vintage fashion with each screen having a different theme, but in a way that none of them strays too far from the concept of camping. It features custom-made button icons, a pastel color palette that makes it pleasant and relaxing to look at, and a stencil-type icon that wraps up the vintage style and acts as the finishing touch.

I Love Camping is available at the App Store.
